My School Story
During year 8, ages 14, a teacher decided that my hair colour was not appropriate for the school rules.
To show his distain to the deputy head he took a picture of me in class, in front of my classmates and another teacher on his personal mobile phone.
Later at the beginning of year 9 I was sexually assaulted by a male student which was caught on camera, I was told to wear trousers by a female teacher.
After another assault by this student my mental health went drastically down and I started to self harm and my eating disorder became worse.
Further to that incident me and my female classmates tried to discuss the fact that our PE leggings were see through, male teachers would congregate during our lessons which made us feel uncomfortable.
Never mind the fact that I had to be around the person who had assaulted me during the week of Sarah Everard murder.
This was thrown out and we were told to wear the uniform.
My Mental health by this point was rock bottom and after trying my best to get into school. My 100% attendance dropped to 38%, I was called defiant and confrontational.
There was no understanding nor compassion. No compromise

My Home Ed Story
After de registering, I went into therapy, spent some time recovering, received a diagnosis of several things and eventually began to heal. It’s taking some time to learn how to trust people again especially adults who are supposed to to be looking after my welfare.
Without my parent's Support and care I couldn’t have got through it.
I was able to go onto studying a level three certification in criminology, psychology, criminal psychology and creative writing. And now my functional skills maths and English so I can go into college.

How I think schools could be better.
Over hauling the curriculum, smaller classes, better qualified teachers with life and home experiences.
Less rules and more regulations and adjustments.
