Home education has meant I can focus on subjects I am interested in, learn at my own pace, invest additional hours into my dance training and develop skills that are helping to launch my career.

Home education has allowed me to learn from the world, not just the classroom, and taught me how to learn, not just what to learn.

Home education gave me the freedom to explore my passions, the time to get ahead of the crowd in my industry and a community of like minded individuals to connect with.

I am loving my time at university and I know that my home education background gave me the confidence, time and drive to achieve my goals.

One great thing about being home educated is that there are no levels that you are supposed to be at and so you are never made to feel that you are ‘behind’ or not good enough.

Home education allowed me to pursue my interests, seek knowledge outside the confines of the National Curriculum, and learn in alignment with my aptitude, abilities and values.

Home education offered me a more diverse education and a sense of place and community. I’m now an aspiring nature writer and support the next generation of home-ed children with affordable educational resources.

Being home educated gave me time to develop my creative talents. I can knit, crochet, sew and more. They are great skills to have and to pass on to the children I teach too.

I was home educated from the age of 11 which gave me the opportunity to gain invaluable ‘real life’ experiences to prepare me for adult life. I have a successful business as a trainer/instructor.

My joy for home-ed has alway stemmed from the freedom of choice. To pursue the interests I choose about the things I love the most. To me that will always be the most valuable thing.

Being home-educated feels like a super power. It gave me the confidence to speak up, be different, believe in myself, plough my own furrow. To celebrate differences and relish disagreements rather than fear them.

Home Education allowed me to enter young adult life with a strong sense of self. I thrived In the college/further education environment because of how familiar self lead studying was to me.

I was brought up electively home educated until the age of 16, where I attended a local Sixth Form College full time to study Law, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics. Education has broadened my horizons and developed my self-confidence.

Home Education has helped me develop my problem solving skills, which I use daily in my job as an occupational therpaist.

Being home educated allowed me to maintain my love of learning and my ability to work independently. When I was at university, I realised I was the only one actively enjoying the lessons!

I was home educated from 9 years old due to being dyslexic/ autistic and school couldn’t deal with my needs. I went on to college and university. Now run my own fabrication company.

Being home educated gave me the courage to be different and do things my own way. I’m a better thinker and business owner because of it.

Being home educated econcouraged me to follow my own path and taught me to fully believe in my ability to control the course of my own life. It taught me the value of personal accountability and equipped me with the self belief and inner motivation.

Being home educated allowed me to explore my interests and travel. This has allowed me to meet new people and understand different cultures and perspectives which has grown me as a professional and a person.

Home education taught me how to learn… not just for knowledge sake, but for the sheer thrill of discovery! And what better way is there to learn about the world than to live it.

Home education allowed me to learn at a my own pace and to explore my interests. I have now secured an apprenticeship in the railway industry which was my dream from the age of 2!

Home education allowed me to follow my interests and maintain my passion for learning – right through a Master’s Degree and beyond. I feel so lucky to have been afforded that wonderful freedom and opportunity.

I was autonomously educated until 16 and it has served me well by building my creativity and self-determination, as well as being very enjoyable. I’ve also met many amazing people through it, including my wife!

My Home Education journey started before the internet arrived in homes and gave a freestyle education – a headstart preparation for the real world. My children are the second-generation to benefit from this freedom.

So many people told me being homeschooled wouldn’t get me anywhere in life, but here I am currently doing my dream course, level 2 performing arts and loving life.

Home Education gave me the freedom to pursue the things I enjoyed as a child, leading me to become an adult with a vast range of creative hobbies. It nurtured a good work ethic & a “can do” attitude, allowing me to thrive in the workplace & at university.
