My stories

My School Story
Our child never had resilience to do a whole week at school.

We sent him to a tiny primary and the pressure was too much.

We managed to flexi school him for a lot of primary and he could cope with that.

In fact his learning accelerated once he went part time.

At secondary it was clear he didn't have the resilience and mental health was seriously impacted by the inflexible approach to learning.

He left in year 8, as his mental health was seriously impacted.
My Home Ed Story
Within 2 days of home education he was more tolerant and able to function day to day.

Within a month his love of learning came back and he began to be inquisitive about so many things.
How I think schools could be better.
Flexible approach. Both in timings and subjects.

Emphasis on building relationships, how to communicate with others, how to relate.

Teachers having time to build individual bonds with the kids.

Welfare before education. Learning doesn't come when a child is sad.
