80’s School Experience – UK
My stories
My School Story
I was 5, just started reception, sitting in the school hall, eating my lunch, when the head teacher begins telling off my friend, a boy for something rather trivial.
It escalates to the point, the head master, boils over in anger, with a red face, picks up my friend also 5, whilst shouting in his face, he lifts him up above his head, and shakes him. The shouting was so loud.
I watch, terrified, my friends eyes had glazed over and I recall thinking in my young mind, his not there, he was frozen.
He sat my friend back next to me and no one, no adult, no child said a word.
That afternoon, I ran out of the doors, and ran to my house.
At that age I could not explain what or why.
I was returned the next day and the same thing happened many times.
It haunts me still.
