My stories

My School Story
Unsupported children in primary secondary and specialist.

Having gone through fight after fight for the right support pulled my child out. After yet more failed promises.

Child was left unsupported for years. Effectively wrote off.

Home education has been a game changer.

Child can now learn, feels safe and able to engage with others.

To tell all that happened I would have to write a book.

But had restrained for just sat at a desk, and physically removed due to this. Alone in isolation to the point not given their food and forgot they were there. Left outside alone in the rain all day. Not eating in school. Not drinking due to closed toilets. Being bullied. Not able to understand the work. Told off for asking what was supposed to be doing. Not given work at all. Then punished as no work done.

Struggling with the environment. Punished for it. Shouted at for not understanding.
Ignored. Punished and isolated in school. This is not inclusion.

Home educated, encouraged, involved, valued. Included. What a difference.
What happened next...
A game changer. It’s like having a different child.
How I think schools could be better.
For my child nothing would now make them feel safe at school.
