Jenn Hodge

Doing Education Differently.

Jenn was born and raised in a small Somerset town in south-west England.  Her childhood was impacted by being a young carer to her loving mum, having an abusive and then absent father and being undiagnosed dyslexic and ADHD.

Over the years that followed Jenn became a mother and qualified as a birth doula, supporting women and families through both education and advocacy.  She went on to grow an online business, facilitate a women’s circle, volunteer at home education groups and two youth provisions, organise educational trips and events, sit on the parish council, project manage her communities Covid response and raise a growing family.

In January 2020 she founded an education centre in Somerset, UK which has grown from strength to strength and supports a wide range of young people, many of whom are neurodivergent.

In 2025 Jenn was selected as one of the UK’s top 100 inspiring female entrepreneurs by Small Business Britain.

Today Jenn is a keen writer, CEO and advocate of “Doing Education Differently”.  She dreams of a reformed schooling system that enables interest driven learning and meets a wider range of needs, doing away with exam culture and the academic hierarchy of subjects.

She loves hanging out with her children, listening to loud music and dancing.
