Jenn Hodge
Doing Education Differently.
Jenn was born and raised in a small Somerset town in south-west England. Her childhood was impacted by her having a loving mum with a life limiting illness, an abusive and then absent father and being undiagnosed dyslexic and ADHD.
She struggled in her 20’s to know which way was up – but found joy with the birth of her first child. Since then she has been on a journey that has taken her to some incredible places and through some very tough days.
In her 30’s she ran her local toddler group and qualified as a birth doula, supporting women and families through both education and advocacy. In the following years she grew an online business, facilitated a women’s circle, volunteered at home education groups, organised educational trips and events, volunteered with two evening youth provisions, sat on the parish council, project managed her communities Covid response and raised a growing family.
In January 2020 she founded an education centre in Somerset, UK which has grown from strength to strength and supports a wide range of young people, many of whom are neurodivergent.
In 2025 Jenn was selected as one of the UK’s top 100 inspiring female entrepreneurs by Small Business Britain.
Today Jenn is a keen writer, CEO and advocate of “Doing Education Differently”. She dreams of a reformed schooling system that enables interest driven learning and meets a wider range of needs, doing away with exam culture and the academic hierarchy of subjects.
She loves hanging out with her children, listening to loud music and dancing.
